ABOUT THE ANTLE SISTERS

The Antle Sisters are a contemporary folk duo from St. John’s.

16 year old twin sisters, Mary & Ella Antle, began performing as a duo in 2016 and quickly established a busy performing schedule including folk festivals, coffee houses, charity events & more.

The Antle Sisters have a timeless sound characterized by their natural harmonies. Their signature folk vibe is evident in their simple but unique arrangements of contemporary and traditional folk songs. Acoustic guitar with the addition of bass and/or ukulele give their arrangements a unique feel that is a perfect fit for their vocals.

The Antle Sisters set list includes a blend of covers and a growing list of original songs. Their influences include contemporary folk artist Kate Rusby and folk rocker Brandi Carlile as well as local artists such as The Ennis Sisters and Amelia Curran. Their choice of covers and their original material both reflect their positive outlook on life.

Outside of The Antle Sisters, Mary and Ella are constantly immersed in other musical projects. They have both been taking voice and piano lessons since the age of 4 and are currently completing Conservatory Canada level 9 classical voice & piano. They are very active members of their school music programs including jazz and concert bands and 3 separate choirs. Mary and Ella are also active in St. John’s vibrant musical theatre community, regularly performing in productions for several different local theatre companies. Mary and Ella are also excited to be sharing their love of music with young people as members of the teaching staff at Intervals Music Studio.
